Research and development

Research and development is among the core missions of the College. To that end, the College commits itself to take R and D to the highest level by establishing a Center and fulfill the necessary facilities and personnel. The Center provides the necessary leadership for cross-functional research and establishes links with industries, defence units and academia through various means, coordinates studies relevant to institutional transformation and consultancy services. The Center would establish close links with industries and other defense technical units so as to bring the necessary research themes and feedback to the College programs.  The Center identifies the major research areas of the College and develops procedures, rules and regulations that govern research and consultancy services. By creating an enabling research environment, it strives to promote the College towards being engineering research center. In order to discharge its mission it will be staffed with the necessary manpower and facilities: full time researchers and research assistants, computational facilitates, different laboratories and testing facilities. Research shall focus on enhancing weapon systems capability (light weapons and artillery, missiles, aircraft and helicopters, communication networks and gadgets, command and control means, etc) and technology transfer aiming strategically to decrease the dependency of MoND technology acquisition on suppliers. The Center organizes different forums and panels for knowledge and research outcomes dissemination. The center is also responsible for proper documentation of research results, patents and royalty, project reports etc. It also publishes journals, news letters, and coordinates the process of publishing books.
