  • About Civil Engineering

Civil engineering is arguably the oldest engineering discipline. It deals with the built environment and can be dated to the first time someone placed a roof over his or her head or laid a tree trunk across a river to make it easier to get across. The built environment encompasses much of what defines modern civilization. Buildings and bridges are often the first constructions that come to mind, as they are the most conspicuous creations of structural engineering, one of civil engineering's major sub-disciplines. Roads, railroads, subway systems, and airports are designed by transportation engineers, another category of civil engineering.
  • Department Objectives

    • To produce engineers in computer and information technology with creativity, hardworking, team spirit, military & professional ethics, and academic discipline with responsibility and professionalism,
    • To impart the graduates the knowledge and skills necessary in the development of systems covering a broad range of engineering and scientific applications,
    • To carry out research in the areas of computer & information Technology,
    • To develop and disseminate the theory and methods for the design, analysis, implementation, and improvement of computer hardware, software and application systems,
    • To render consultancy services,

  • Academic Staffs

It is obvious that delivery of quality education is highly dependent on the availability of qualified and experienced academic as well as support staff members. The Civil Engineering department has 25 full time and no part-time academic staff members for both the UG and PG programs. The following table shows the number and qualification of the academic staff.
