DEC offers admission to applicants who appear to have the highest potential for graduate study and who, with the benefit of a graduate education, are the most likely to contribute substantially to their academic or professional fields through teaching, research, or professional practice.
The minimum graduate admission requirements are:
1. A Bachelors degree in respected fields and any related specialization or recognized
equivalent from an accredited institution;
2. A satisfactory scholastic average, usually a minimum grade-point average (CGPA) of
2.0 or a minimum of 60% marks in ECTS equivalents;
3. Minimum undergraduate course work to do graduate work in chosen field or can
take prerequisite subject(s) required to qualify in chosen field but in zero units; and
4. Pass the entrance examination given by the department.
Admission decisions are based on departmental review using a combination of factors which includes academic degrees and records, program requirements, the statement of purpose,
letters of recommendation, test scores, and relevant work experience. DEC also considers the appropriateness of the goals and interests of students to the degree program. In addition,
consideration may be given as to how the background and life experience would contribute significantly to an educationally beneficial mix of students.
