| The Department of Electrical Power Technology is offering Degree and Diploma Electrical Engineers to the nation since year 1996 GC. The students are enrolled based on the performance in an entrance test and on the requirement of the Ministry of National Defence |

The department has been imparting high quality education with a vision towards academic excellence. Students of this department have access to well equipped laboratories and are also provided guidance from qualified and motivated faculty. |
| The curriculum |
The curriculum is updated periodically to reflect
changes in the electrical engineering profession in cons ultation
with experts from industries and other renowned academic institutions.
Some of the innovative practices included as part of the curriculum are
semester long project work mini projects associated with lab courses and
continuous evaluation process etc. These efforts have been well appreciated. |

The speciality of the curriculum
is the inclusion
of laboratories/Tutorials for all the courses offered
by the department.
All the laboratories are well equipped and cater
