i) Signal school organization ii)Organization of HQ MoND Communication Department i) Working out specifications for Ground Force & Air Force Wireless communication systems. ii) Evaluation Committee for procurement of wireless sets. |
3. Degree Specializations and exit profiles: |
| 3.1 Communication electronics & systems |
1. Interpret the technical manuals, Trace, identify & Maintain communication/radar sets and operate the equipment. 2. Perform maintenance cost analysis and performance calculating of communication system, 3. Assemble and disassemble major electronic subsystem of the communication/ radar equipment, during the over-hauling of the equipment. Maintain and suggest suitable modification if required, 4. Lead a technical maintenance team up to intermediate organization level. 5. Manage fault control organization of any communication center . |
| 3.2 Electronic Communication Management |
| 1. The graduates are expected to plan, design, implement, operate and
manage communication infra-structure for Ground Force and Airforce independently. 2. Posses high-level professional skills in the Command, Control, Communication and Intelligence(C4I) operations. 3. Design and implement Command and Control Counter Measures ( C2 CM) as well as Command and Control Protect (C2 P) operations concerning Electronic Warfare in Digitized battle field. 4. Be able to Command Communication Units up to Corps level. 5. Manage and implement high level communication security needed for Information Operations. 6. They should be able to under take assignments as staff officers for Commanders up to Corps level |

| 1. Perform system trouble shooting to identify faulty circuit, block
or sub system for remedy of the problem. 2. Apply EMI/EMC considerations in any circuit or system design and installation processes. 3. Use, maintain and take part in modifying receivers, transmitters and other equipment used in ESM, ECM, & ECCM systems. 4. Design and Develop antennas for EW systems in different frequency ranges. 5. Take part in designing and developing EW systems, Adopt recent technological outcomes for EW systems. Supervise the job performance by associate engineers and other subordinates |
| 3.6 Instrumentation |
| 1. Design and develop microprocessor-based systems for engineering application,
Use and maintain instruments. 2. Evaluate new instruments & instrumentation systems for induction in to service. 3. Select & Integrate transducers with signal conditioning circuits for instrumentation systems, Undertake instrumentation calibration activities. 4. Integrate instrumentation systems with microprocessors/ computers. 5. Design and develop signal-conditioning circuits for instrumentation systems, Undertake reverse engineering of state of the art equipments. 6. Take part in modification of instruments and of instrumentation systems. 7. Adopt recent technological developments for instrumentation systems performance improvement and up gradation. 8. Install any new measuring instrument in ground and air based military hardware considering ergonomic & other aspects. |
4. Facilities |
| A. Laboratories: Applied and basic problems are tested and proved in the well-equipped laboratories. The department has laboratories with following major facilities besides world-class test equipment. |
| Microwave, Antennas and Radar. Microwave Transmitter - Receiver, Radar trainer System, gives technical realities to analyze and understand Microwave and Radar courses. There are numerous antenna models. |
| Communication Laboratory. The laboratory has training kits on PCM switching, Mobile and Cellular Telephony, Radio Systems, Television Systems and Spectrum Analyzers, super heterodyne receivers, Digital communication systems to prove Coding and Modulation theories, It also has many Computerized software, hardware and their combination facilities to prove various waveforms taught in lecture class. |
| Transducers Laboratory: Available training kits on: Humidity & moisture measurement, Measuring equipments, Strain gage trainer, sound & vibration trainer, Air flow transducer, LVDT, Pressure transducer & signal conditioner, Fluid level transducer, Light sensors & controls, Pressure, force, position, proximity, speed, light, and load cell transducers, accessories. |
| Electronic Instrumentation Laboratory: Equipped with various trainers and electronic instruments, such as: Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, millimeters, signal analyzers, spectrum analyzers, distortion analyzer, Frequency meters, plotters, function and Signal generators…accessories. |
| PC based Instrumentation systems Laboratory: Industrial computerized process control trainer, PC based temperature process control and pneumatic trainer, PC based pressure flow and level trainer and instruments accessories. |
