    THE DEPARTMENT OF BASIC AND APPLIED COURSES

    Over View


    The Department of Basic and Applied Courses is one of the oldest departments in the college. It has two sections: The Applied Science Courses Section and the Social Science Courses Section.

    The Applied Science Courses Section has thirteen staffs all with MSC degrees, of which two Physics instructors are pursuing their PHD studies in A.A.U. This section offers Mathematics, Statistics and Physics courses that are the back bone of the College, while the Social Science Courses Section has Eight staffs with four MA, three BA and one diploma holder who serves the section as a technical assistant in the English language lab, offers English language, Economics, Civics, Ethics, Communication skill and Entrepreneur courses.

    The department offers basic courses, which are essential for all disciplines. It also offers courses, which are directly applicable in engineering fields. Hence its name, besides, it prepares entrance examinations which identify students who quality to join the college.

    short-term trainings

    The Department of Basic and Applied Courses is also playing a crucial role in conducting short-term trainings for the various organs of the MoND apart from the usual teaching-learning activity in the college. Trainings such as Translation, Report Writing and Communication are the major ones. These trainings are carried out using the well-equipped English Language Laboratory in the department.
