The effective life cycle management of the  defence vehicle systems, which inevitably involve state of art technologies require a perfect blend of team of professionals from  Automotive, Tank, Computers, Communications, Instrumentation, Metallurgy, Electrical power, Design & Manufacturing  and Armaments with basic knowledge of interdisciplinary specializations

Vision
  • To be a center of excellence in promoting and continuously enhancing the quality of education, training, research and development programs compatible to international standards in Automobiles, Combat vehicles and related technologies, so as to produce competent MOTOR VEHICLE ENGINEERS and RESEARCHERS meeting the needs of stakeholders.

Department Mission

  • To contribute  effectively to National Defence Forces automotive and combat vehicles technological development programs in terms of qualified human resource and consultancy,
  • To continuously develop and launch internationally competent academic   programs and research infrastructure in the field of Motor vehicles technology,
  • To be a center of innovation, research and development, relevant to Motor vehicle technology

Educational Objectives

  • Impart training at B.Tech level in contemporary and futuristic technologies related to Automobiles and combat vehicles.
  • Design and offer regular need based technological programs at post graduate level.
  • Develop and establish the material infrastructure in terms of laboratories, equipments and facilities to improve the training and research activities.
  • Design and conduct short term training programs as per the customer requirement
  • Undertake regular and need based research and development to contribute significantly for enhancing the combat efficiency and readiness of Automobiles, Combat vehicles and related systems.
  • Provide technical and engineering consultancy services in the field of automobiles, combat vehicles and related technologies to the stake holders.
