Metallurgical and Material

Department of Metallurgical Technology was restructured under the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and then it was recognized as sections under the Department of Metallurgy and Production Technology in 2004.  Finally during the revision of the curriculum the change of the name of the program and its organizational structure is approved as department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering with the effect from 2010. Currently the department offers Bachelor of Technology/Bachelor of Science (B.Tech / B.Sc.) program.

In addition to the undergraduate program the department involves:

  • In research and consultancy activities
  • organizes short and intensive courses in specialized topics
  • conducts seminars and conferences on current scientific and technological developments in the field of metallurgy and materials.
  • start Master’s of Technology/Master’s of Science (M.Tech./M.Sc.) program in industrial metallurgy in the near future.

Department Mission

  • Educate high quality students with the academic experiences and knowledge to become leaders in education, research and service in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
  • Shape students to be disciplined, knowledgeable and ready to defend the Constitution, and high aspirations to pay sacrifice for the success of Defence mission.
  • Provide nationally recognized leadership in education, research and service in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
  • Develop new knowledge that has a significant impact in the development and application of existing and new materials for defense application.
