Electronics Department



The Department of Electronics Engineering is one of the various departments under the Defence Engineering College with a primary goal of preparing students for successful technology-based careers.  This new curriculum is developed with emphasis on the applications of engineering and technical knowledge to solve actual workplace problems. This is done through planned activities on practical problem solving, design capability, and laboratory work along with team projects and internship

Department Mission

  • Produce qualified and competent professionals in the fields of electronics engineering,
  •  Shape students to be disciplined, knowledgeable and ready to defend the Constitution, and high aspirations to pay sacrifice for the success of Defence mission,
  • Be a center of excellence in conducting research, development and consultancy Services ,Offer need-based short-term training

Program

The Department of Electronics Engineering comprises the following sub-specializations at undergraduate level for 5-year degree program:

    • Communication Engineering
    • Instrumentation Engineering
    • Control and Guidance Engineering
    • Electronic Warfare Technology
    • Laser and Photonics

    Degree Nomenclature

     All graduate degrees in Electronics Engineering Fields of Studies are recognized by and awarded through the Defense Engineering College as:

    • “Bachelor of Technology Degree (B-Tech) in Electronics Engineering with Specialization:
      • Communication Engineering
      • Instrumentation Engineering
      • Control and Guidance Engineering
      • Electronic Warfare Technology
      • Laser and Photonics

    Laboratories and Workshop

    The Department has the following well-equipped laboratories with major facilities besides word class test equipment at which basic and applied experiments are tested and proved. All laboratories cater to the in-take of 20 students at a time:

    Communication Laboratory

    This laboratory caters for the practical training of students in Analog & Digital communicationCommunicationsystems, Optical Fiber communications, etc. and mainly equipped with Transistorized radiotransmission & reception module, PCM switching, GSM-900 based, Cellular Telephone system, Optical Transceiver kit, TV Trainer system, and FAX Trainer system

     

    Microwave and Radar Laboratory

    This Laboratory is dedicated to the courses Transmission lines, Antennas, and Wave Mirowavepropagation, Microwave Devices & Circuits, and Radar systems.
    It is equipped with Two-open wire transmission line kit, Wave-guide components, 10 GHZ microwave transceiver system, Different types of antennas, and Radar Trainer system

     

    This Laboratory is equipped with different types of transducers/sensors modules and supports Powercourses such as Transducers, Measurement and Instrumentation, and Electrical Metrology and Calibration

     

     

     

    Electronic Instrumentation Laboratory

     

    This Laboratory is dedicated to the advanced Electronic Instrumentation System courses and Instrumentationequipped with standard signal generators, audio, spectrum, and logic analyzers.

     

     

     

     

    Process Control Laboratory

     

    This is dedicated to an automatic control system related experiments and comprises Temperature Process Control trainer, Simulations on different transducers using PS-2160 module, and Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) using PS-2800 module.

     

     

    This laboratory caters for the practical training of students in the nature of EMI/EMC and sources of EMI
