The key element of any battle victory is the concentration of right amount, variety of firepower on the target at right time with an element of surprise – The fire power is the blend of Armaments of ground, air & naval weapons and the variety of ammunition

About the Program Armament Engineering is a branch of  engineering which deals with the design, development, analysis, testing  and life cycle engineering maintenance aspects of all form of weapons, weapon systems and their parts, such as; small arms, artilleries, rockets, mortars, tank armament, air armament, guided weapons, all types of ammunition, explosives and high energy materials. The department has the following three programs (Specializations), at B Tech level as per the existing requirements of the MoND. Laboratories and Workshops

Under weapon system technologies   exclusive laboratories as under are required: Artillery systems, Small Arms, Tank Armaments, Air armaments, Gun Control Equipment, and Sights & Instrumentation

Under warhead technologies   exclusive laboratories as under are required: Ammunition systems, Fuze Technology, Pyrotechnics & Mine systems. Under Missile technologies   exclusive laboratories as under are required: Missile propulsion, Missile air frames, Guidance & control and Electrical power. Under High Energy materials technologies   exclusive laboratories as under are required: High explosives, Propellants, Pyrotechnics & demolition charges. Under Ballistics   exclusive laboratories as under are required: Internal, External, Terminal, and Experimental

Under Lasers & electro optics exclusive laboratories as under are required: Laser systems, Image Intensifiers & Infra red systems, Weapon sights & Optical systems. Under Simulation & modeling   exclusive laboratories as under are required: Design software, Reverse engineering techniques, Maintainability & Reliability, Simulation & analysis. Under Mechatronics   exclusive laboratories as under are required: Microprocessor, Sensors & transducers and  Robotics. Under Weapon system metallurgy exclusive laboratories as under are required: Armour materials, Polymers & composites, and weapons & Warhead metallurgy.
